With predictions flying like crazy on anything Super Bowl related, it seems to be the only topic worthy of discussion at the moment. I have seen predictions that it will be the most violent NFL game in history, that there will be the most injuries of any Super Bowl game in history, that the Seahawks will win, and that the Broncos will win. It is safe to say that everyone is obsessed and has their own take on the game. It is not surprising that everyone wants in on the action, but quite honestly the only predictions I am really interested in are the Super Bowl betting odds that are shaping up and the point spread that is being designated because I will be betting on this game, and I […]
Rion Page proves that dynamite truly does come in small packages, but the inspirational and diminutive powerhouse of a singer was sent packing last week during the X Factor USA Top Final 4 competition. That leaves Demi Lovato with no contestant in the Top Final 3 sing-off Wednesday, December 18. Also gone is the popular country singing trio Simon Cowell was working with, Restless Road, but both Page and the talented country singers appear to have a prosperous and successful future ahead of them. Let’s take a look at the Top Final 3 contestants.
It is week 14 and the early futures bets are in on who will win Super Bowl XLVIII. The clear favorites are currently the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos, with the New England Patriots and Carolina Panthers making a late season run. The 2014 National Football League Super Bowl will be played in MetLife Stadium at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey on February 2, 2014. In what may add some serious repercussions to the outcome of the game, this is the first Super Bowl ever to be played outdoors in a cold weather environment. This is also the first Super Bowl in 38 years which has the AFC and NFC participants competing on artificial turf outdoors, which may also significantly impact game play.
Tim Olstad and Khaya Cohen both get booted on The X Factor USA 2013 during the Top 10 results episode aired November 21 on FOX. But whenever someone is eliminated, someone else gets a second chance at survival, and possibly even at becoming the Season 3 champion. The exit of the two young and talented hopefuls trimmed the field to eight, with both boys and girls and categories losing one member apiece, something that strengthened the competition in the other categories.
Tonight is a big night on your favorite reality singing talent show. The Voice is holding its Top 8 Performance Show this evening, pitting the talented Ray Boudreaux, Cole Vosbury, Caroline Pennell, Tessanne Chin, Will Champlin, James Wolpert, Matthew Schuler and Jacquie Lee against each other for one of the six spots which the field will be trimmed down to after tonight’s competition. Cee Lo Green will be performing “Amy” from the Goodie Mob’s latest album “Age Against the Machine” during the Top 8 Performance Show, with Robin Thicke contributing his “Feels Good” from his “Blurred Line” album.
With Halloween just around the corner, the Major League Baseball World Series teams have finally been decided. The early Las Vegas odds on World Series 2013 participants Boston and St. Louis are definitely reflecting the fact that the two teams look on paper to be eerily similar. And many scary matchups simply look like a wash with no clear winner. This is the fourth time that the Red Sox and Cardinals have teed it up in the Fall Classic, and the previous three meetings gave us incredible, Hall of Fame matchups.
America’s Got Talent just wrapped up season eight, and the multitalented Kenichi Ebina outlasted a diverse and skilled field to earn a $1 million cash prize, as well as the role as a headliner in a Las Vegas show. The competition started back on June 4 this year, and culminated in a finals match-up pitting the comedic talents of Taylor Williamson and the performance art skills of Ebina. Kenichi employs a creative combination of storytelling, acting, mime, martial arts, jazz and ethnic dance. The judges in season eight were comedian Howie Mandel, Mel B of Spice Girls fame, supermodel Heidi Klum and radio broadcasting icon Howard Stern.
The first week of the America’s got talent season eight finals is behind us, and elimination claimed some shocking victims. Chicago Boyz and Innovative Force are gone, as are the KriStef Brothers, Branden James and the duo of D’Angelo and Amanda. The popular and once favorite Catapult has been sent packing as well, and AGT is left with six performers which make for a very ‘scratch your head’ combination of extremely talented individuals and less talented performers with rabid fan bases. Honestly, the in-your-face talent of three of the remaining six AGT acts is unquestioned, while the other three remaining performers with a chance at the $1 million season eight grand prize have made it this far thanks to incredibly devoted fans.
The X Factor has provided us with some incredible performances in the past. Just when you least expect it, the show hits you with an amazing performance that wows the judges and instantly makes a contestant a front-runner. That happened this week, with the tiny cowboy boot wearing 13 year old Rion Paige from Jacksonville, Florida that is blowing up YouTube and the reality TV blogosphere giving an inspirational and awesome version of Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away”. The crimped blond hair and petite build bring to mind a young Taylor Swift, but she is definitely a singular performer.
Six semifinalist analyst acts have been cut, and six of the twelve finalist acts are now known for season 8 of America’s Got Talent. The 2013 AGT season of the reality talent competition this past week featured half of the years 24 semifinalist acts giving their all to earn valuable home viewer votes, and hopefully stay alive. By obtaining enough votes after Tuesday night’s performance to finish in the Top 5 of all competitors, Collins Key, Forte, Cami Bradley, Taylor Williamson and Innovative Force can now all breathe sighs of relief, as they are guaranteed a shot in the finals.
