The finale for American Idol Season 12 is upon us. It is hard to believe that the exciting 12th edition of the iconic American Idol singing competition is here, and to close out this sometimes surprising, always entertaining American Idol year is a stunning Guest Performer list. This Season 12 finale is likely to go down as one of the most memorable evenings in the history of the landmark show. On the Wednesday finale performance, tween singing sensation Carly Rae Jepsen of the popular “Call Me Maybe” will be performing her new song, “Take A Picture”.
This is a team effort between Carly and the American Idol 2013 fan base, which resulted as part of a worldwide promotion by Coca-Cola. And both Mariah Carey and Keith Urban have already pre-recorded performances for the finale, to make sure they are perfect in every way. Keith is performing a new un-named single which you must be watching to experience, and Mariah is delivering an extensive medley of her biggest and most popular hits. Also, recent Internet rumors about a big-name former judge returning for the American Idol Season 12 finale will definitely have you wanting to Dance Again.
Jennifer “Jenny from the Block” Lopez returns once again to the American Idol stage and our sources tell us that she will actually be performing the first single from her upcoming album, entitled “Live It Up.” If you remember, American Idol producers were trying to replace Mariah with Jennifer halfway through the season because of slumping ratings. We for one hope that the American Idol powers-that-be give us a close-up of Mariah’s reaction during Jennifer Lopez’s performance. And hopefully the Idol winner from season 11, Phillip Phillips, will make an appearance. We just hope that his health issues from this past summer will allow him to join this exciting finale.
Adam Lambert is reportedly going to be performing what American Idol producers hoped would be a surprise duet, though this appears to be probably the worst kept secret in the history of the show. Multiple television and World Wide Web media outlets have already confirmed that his singing partner is this year’s third-place Idol contestant Angie Miller. There is also the unconfirmed possibility that Ms. Miller performs an original song, either as a solo artist or with Adam. There are also rumblings that this song could be her previously performed original “You Set Me Free,” or possibly a brand-new song debuted for the first time.
And while Vegas odds on American Idol Season 12 final contestants Kree Harrison and Candice Glover show Candice with a slight edge, many Idol watchers were shocked when Angie was eliminated. You will just have to watch to see what happens in the exciting Season 12 finale of America’s favorite singing competition, and we have just one last Guest Performer spoiler to reveal. Korean pop singer and Internet sensation Psy of “Gangnam Style” fame has been tapped to perform his latest hit, “Gentleman.” We have reached the end of road for Candice and Kree, and although both of those talented singers will definitely go on to future fame, only one will take home the coveted American Idol crown during this year’s Season 12 finale.
